From a single chicken shop to a nation-wide poultry distributor

Founded in 1982 in Wiley Park NSW, M&J Chickens started out as a small deli.
While we have significantly grown since then, our focus has - and always will be - on delivering quality and consistent products, with a view to continually improve our process and reach.

We’re always looking for ways to be better at what we do and how we do it. Over the years, our strong growth has meant we’re able to meet the demands of the Australian market and export premium products to multiple international locations.


Mina and Jenny Souris opened a delicatessen chicken shop in Wiley Park, NSW.


Started processing operations on the east side of Sloane Street.


Our current CEO and leader, Sam Phylactou, joined us.


Started operations in Brisbane and Townsville, Queensland.


Started operating in Melbourne, Victoria.


Began cooked and chargrill operations.


Enhanced and developed “purpose-built” cooked products. Also began bespoke “pasteurisation” processing.
